AMD 10th Family processors are not Supported in VMware ESX
Symptoms
After installing ESX Server on a Host with certain AMD Processors you may receive an error message similar to the following:
SysAlert: "AMD Family 10h stepping ## is not supported"
Possible values for ## are A0, B0, B1, & B2.
Resolution
AMD Family 10h Processors with stepping B2 or earlier are not supported by any release of ESX.
Contact your hardware vendor for a supported model of the AMD Processor.
